We gave this tea its name because it helps with the nearly universal desire
to change bad habits, i.e. "turn over a new leaf." The herbs are
anti-addictive and calming and soothing to the nerves. Ingredients: Chamomile,
Oats in Milk, Oatstraw, Skullcap, Catnip, Hops, Peppermint.
Chamomile - Traditionally Chamomile has been used for digestive upset, flatulence,
heartburn, diarrhea, anxiety, muscle tension, and insomnia. It is known as
a nervine, meaning it calms and soothes the nervous system This property can
explain its usefulness when dealing with anxiety, palpitations and irritability.
Oats in Milk/Oatstraw - Oats, often referred to by their botanical name Avena
sativa, are deeply nourishing to the nervous system. They are especially indicated
in states of exhaustion with difficulty concentrating. Oats have been used
to treat addictions such as alcohol, nicotine and coffee.
Skullcap - Skullcap is another herb that is used to restore balance to the
nervous system. It is commonly used to relieve sleeplessness, agitation and
exhaustion, especially when they are accompanied by a increased sensitivity
to noise, light and odors.
Peppermint - Peppermint adds not only flavor, but a calming and soothing aroma
to the tea.
Catnip - Another herb to soothe nervous irritation, Catnip is used with restlessness,
nervous irritation, headaches, and insomnia.
Hops - This herb had been seen to be useful in nervousness, anxiety, and
indigestion. Its constituents have been found to be anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory,
and calming to the nervous system and digestive tract.
